Now normally I don't like to post about such things as they usually don't affect me directly but when I former colleague that used to write for the same site I once did (Jets101) decides he is having a bad day then apparently I need to respond.
This all centers around a Yankee ballplayer who is now back with his teammates after serving a year long suspension for PED's. You know his name and I will not mention it here or otherwise for reasons I will go into. Now do I agree with many things my former colleague said about how MLB went after "this guy" and the methods they used to get him suspended. Yes, I do agree with most of all how it went down being the wrong way for anyone, especially MLB, to handle things. That being said that is NOT why I will no longer EVER root for "this guy" if I listen to or watch Yankees' games. The reason is, and it's MY OPINION, which I am entitled to make, because of how vehemently he DENIED using PED's and then after all was said and done basically admitted it through his handwritten apology letter. While everyone else wants to put it behind them I CANNOT. If I watch a game and "this guy" come up to the plate I will mute the sound or change the channel until his at-bat is over. If he makes a great play in the field I will be treat it with utter lack of any response what-so-ever.
May be I am a bit different in how I approach this than most people but I am fine with that. One person, I had relied upon for great news regarding anything sports related however, is not. We had a rather spirited discussion once before on facebook regarding this same topic but I decided to continue to poke fun at it. Okay so if he took my attempt at humor the wrong way than I bear some blame but it's what he said to me after that that has since gotten him blocked. I never once said his opinion was "biased" but he said mine was TWICE and at the end of his last rant he decided to say words to the affect of "if I saw you I would bash your head against a wall." Now like I said may be he was having a "bad day" but I don't take kindly to any of that being said to me. I may not have his connections in the sports world but I do have some in the law enforcement community. Regardless, many people who have met me know that I am not the type of person to tell someone their opinion is wrong, or make threats unless directly presented with those who might do me harm. We are all human beings and we are ALL ENTITLED to whatever we want to say when we want to say it. It's a constitutional right. So if I do not want to root for one Yankee ballplayer despite that I am an fan of team than that is my right as well. Do not ever presume to tell me or anyone else for that matter, what I can and cannot do. Part of the reason I decided to poke fun at him was because he seems to obsess over this one guy in particular mentioning each day on facebook where he will be in the batting order and how he is doing stats-wise. Well their are 24 other Yankees on the roster too pal, they count just as much as he does.
Now I am sure other colleagues of his will see this post and may be even tell him of it's contents but I doubt they will tell him that I feel he owes me an apology for the things he said. He will have his side to this story and you have read mine. Now I return you to your regularly scheduled lives, already in progress.
