This Saturday night as is tradition now on the night before WrestleMania, WWE holds it's annual Hall of Fame induction ceremonies. Here is the 2016 class:
Headliner: Sting-for all that Steve Borden has done for the business from his start in Mid-South to all his glories and accomplishments in WCW, then his days in TNA to his ending run in WWE he most definitely belongs among the immortals. It's SHOWTIME!!!
Big Boss Man (posthumous)-Ray Traylor was a "jobber" for Jim Crockett Promotions when Dusty Rhodes saw something in him and made him Big Bubba Rogers, the silent but destructive bodyguard for Jim Cornette. His law and order style in the WWF brought him bigger fame and success. He won the Hardcore title and was one half of the Tag-Team Champions while being a force for Mr. McMahon in The Corporation.
The Godfather-this too me is the most questionable of all the inductees, because generally WWE favors guys who portrayed one character throughout their careers. Before he was the Godfather Charles Wright was the Soultaker in the USWA, Papa Shango and Kama/Kama Mustafa in WWE. We all loved his run as The Godfather pimping out the "ho's" and he did capture the Intercontinental title once from Goldust but his overall accomplishments don't merit this achievement.
The Fabulous Freebirds-Michael "P.S." Hayes, Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy (posthumous) and Buddy Roberts (posthumous) plus "Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin. Really it should only be the original three going in the Hall for being the first trio to hold tag-team gold with any combination of the two of them. The feud with the Von Erichs in World Class was awesome, but these three also ran thru many guys in the UWF (Mid-South) and WCW (Jim Crockett Promotions) during there hey day.
Jacqueline-she was different type of "Diva" in the early days of them using that moniker, but was a two-time Women's Champion and once held the Cruiserweight title. Little known in the USWA she held there Women's title 14 times!
Stan "The Lariat" Hansen-the man who famously broke the neck of the Bruno Sammartino, was a one-time AWA World Champion, but his main success was his brutal style/tours of Japan during his lengthy career.
Joan Lunden (Warrior Award)-her bravery in the face of cancer make her an excellent choice to be the second winner of this award.
Snoop Dogg (Celebrity wing)-hosted WrestleMania XXIV and a cousin to Sasha Banks.
